OKUSIE MPUE AWIA

This is an art piece that depicts a Ghanaian proverb. The setting is a bit contrast to the saying but that is what makes art interesting. In literal translation 'OKUSIE MPUE AWIAH' means the rat does not come out in afternoon, so in a more elaborate way it means one does not come out or go out unless pursued or unless a good or bad thing happen certain persons do not show up to some "locations".With this said in the artwork, a half human is seen with a rat and a balloon. The half human stands for a higher power enabling the rat to be fearless and move of it comfort zone. The balloon stands for the potency of the higher power.
